You don't want to work right? That's why you want to work your way up to something better. Self-Service is very labour intensive and tiring. It's a waste of time when you could be spending your time finding ways to make more money.

Don't Start Out Behind
Let's say you want to start a web development company. You apply for a loan, your website is running fine but you still haven't made enough to pay off your loan. That's useless! The idea is to produce income not lose it. You can use Squidoo to make enough money for your webhosting account while you work on your business plan and website. You don't need the hosting while you're working on your website you need it to host the website. You could buy a hosting package that doesn't meet the requirements for your website.. then what? Wait for it to expire, buy a new web hosting package? Let the other go to waste?
